With every amazing person I have met on my travels thus far, there are emotional stories that go along with every one of them. It’s reminded me that in a beautiful way I’m not unique with my own sad story. Everyone has hurt in their lives, whether it be family oriented, personal issues, or any and all types of relationship problems. It has further given me a lot of perspective towards the human race and how resilient and strong we all have the potential to be.
So, this post is for all of you – but in particular, Olivia. I don’t know you – but I do know what you’re going through. I know there aren’t enough “I’m sorry’s” to make the hurt go away, or to help you feel better, but most people just don’t know what else to say. I also know it doesn’t feel like it right now, as it will take some time, in fact, a lot of time, but all I can tell you is that we continue to grow and it makes us stronger people. You’ll never get over losing them, but you will eventually learn to incorporate them in to your life in different ways. They will always have a place in your heart, and will always play a major factor in your future decision making – but it’s magical when it happens. You’ll be walking down the streets in Rome one day and hear their favorite song on the stereo playing from a nearby restaurant, and you’ll smile. You’re not alone. Stay strong. When words fail, music speaks – find songs that you make you feel solace in the moment you’re listening to them. These resonated with me. Xoxo
